Baby Shower Cake!
Posted on October 27, 2007
The baby shower’s theme was teddy bears and so I thought I would make a cute little teddy bear to go right on top of the cake. This cake had layers of buttermilk cake and lemon cream with fresh raspberries between it. I covered the cake in a sweet buttercream and then finished it off with delicate white chocolate curls. This cake combination is definitely one of my favorites!

Cakes and more Cakes

Here are two cakes that I recently created. The first cake that you see here is called a “Crazy Monkey Cake”. The cake is made up of banana buttermilk cake and has a peanut butter filling. The frosting was a milk chocolate ganache. This cake turned out DELICIOUS and was a great hit at the party! The second cake was just a yummy, but more decadent. This was a devil’s food cake that had a chocolate mousse filling and was covered in chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings.

Cupcakes and more Cupcakes

Well, I guess you can say that I’ve sort of gotten a little obsessed with cupcakes…people are crazy about them and so it makes me want to have the best and cutest cupcakes out there. These two cupcakes were quite a hit with my family this weekend! I tried out a recipe for Hummingbird cupcakes, which have banana, pineapple, and pecans in a vanilla-like batter…I then added cream cheese frosting on top and needless to say they were eaten very quickly! Definitely a cupcake I would make again. The next cupcake was in response to a suggestion from my best friend who had tried cupcake at a party and raved about them and so I tried to re-create what she loved soooo much. These are buttermilk cupcakes, which I LOVE, and have a lemon cream filling and are given a buttercream and sugar topping. I topped them off with a raspberry and a white chocolate curl to push them over the top! Yummy!

Get Well Gale!
Posted on October 7, 2007
This last weekend I had a great time making a cake for my mother-in-law! She wanted me to make a “Get Well” cake for a dear friend of her’s that just recently had surgery and told me to design it however I wanted. I thought that making a “present” cake would be a fun cake to do and I was excited with how it turned out! Hopefully this cake brightened her day and let her know that she is in all of our prayers. Get Well Gale!

Ice Cream Cone Cupcake
Posted on October 5, 2007
I had some extra cake batter from an order I was doing so I thought I’d try out my new idea…Ice cream cone cupcakes! Not many people can resist a cupcake and now when you make it into a cute ice cream cone I don’t think anyone could resist taking a bite. These would be such a cute idea for a child’s birthday party or any party for that matter. These cupcakes cost $3.50 each, but in my opinion are well worth it…so if you’re in need of a delicious and adorable party idea give me a call!
