Mini Snicker’s Cream Pies

I’ve been trying out some new recipes lately and playing around with different desserts that I could make into miniatures…since mini’s are my favorite way to eat dessert! These Mini Snicker’s Cream Pies have a grahm cracker and peanut crust, with a peanut butter pastry cream filling that has chunks of snickers hidden in it. I topped off these mini’s with whipped cream and a snicker’s piece. The results were quite delicious although next time I am thinking of adding a little bit of chocolate in there, since when you add chocolate to anything you just make it better!

Last Weekend’s Party

This past weekend I did the catering for my family’s party. We recently went on a Mexico Mission’s trip with our church, Rockharbor, and wanted to connect with all the people we met on the trip again, so we threw a get together at my mom’s house. I decided to do the appetizers and desserts and it turned out to be a fun night for everyone. One of the appetizers I made was “Herbed Goat Cheese Bites”, which were basically a crostini that was topped with herbed goat chees, sun-dried tomato, and basil…yummy! The second appetizer was “Bocconcini Tied with Procscuitto”, which are small, creamy, fresh mozzarella balls that I added a dollop of pesto to and tied with a piece of prosciutto. Lastly, I made “Chicks in a Blanket”, which were made up of small rounds of chicken sausage that I added a small amount of dijon mustard to and then enveloped in puff pastry. For the desserts I did a trifle, which is always a crowd pleaser. This trifle had layers of chocolate fudge cake, pastry cream, whipped cream, nutella pastry cream, and marinated strawberries. I layered the dessert three times and the results were beautiful! Check out the gallery to see more photos of this event and more!

Cupcake Cake

Well, this cake is definitely a favorite among my customers! This time I made it for Katie’s Bridal Shower party and it was a lovely addition to the already beautiful table spread. This cake can be customized in any way with different colors, flavors, and designs.

Rockharbor Cookie Class

Sweet & Saucy had their first cooking class at Rockharbor church this last week. It really ended up being a fun girls night out for everyone! I taught everyone how to make and decorate specialty sugar cookies. The cookies are going to be donated to children through Rockharbor’s Reach department. This was the kick off of many more classes to come, so make sure and check Rockharbor’s ebulliton for the next class in October.

Rob & Carla’s Wedding Reception
