Rockharbor Valentine’s Day Cooking Class
Posted on January 22, 2008
I just recently held another cooking class at Rockharbor Church and this time the theme was Valentine’s Day. I taught them how to do various techniques using fondant and chocolate ganache. We made three different types of cupcakes and mini chocolate heart-shaped cakes. The night was a blast and to top it off half of everything we made went to Rockharbor’s ministry “Broken Hearts”, which ministers to people in need in the downtown LA area. Hope you enjoy looking at the photos!

Dirt Bike Cake
Posted on December 12, 2007
This was such a fun and out of the ordinary cake to do. One of my clients said her boss was a huge dirt bike lover and wanted to know if I could do a birthday cake for him with a dirt bike them. The bike is hand molded out of fondant and then colored/painted by hand. The actual cake was the “Candy Bar Cake” which has brown sugar cake, chocolate peanut butter and caramel filling, and was covered in milk chocolate ganache. She said that the office ate it all by noon…that is the kind of response I love to hear!

Princess Cakes
Posted on December 2, 2007
These two cakes were done for one of my customers that has twin daughters. She wanted me to follow the princess theme of party and use the colors purple and pink…the rest she left up to me and this is what I came up with. The girls were cute as ever that day and I just hope that my cakes made them smile even more on their special day.
